Change Workflow or My Alerts Notification Sender Email

Overview

If a Job should fail to run then Workflow will send an email notification to let you know; similarly with My Alerts. The Sender Email for both of these are usually set to notifications@astuntechnology.com on initial installation. The following steps show how to change these details.

Step-by-step guide

For the Workflow Notification email:

  • Open iShare Studio
  • Click on the Workflow node in the Explorer tree and the Workflow Settings will be displayed.
  • Click Edit to change the Settings.
  • The Connection Details at the top of the dialog are for configuring your SMTP details and these are used both by Workflow and My Alerts Console,
  • Click the Notification Setup button.
  • The Message Settings are where you need to make the change. You may change the Subject, To and From entries to suit your organisation but please leave the Astun entry as this entry is only used by Astun Technology Consultants to receive a copy of any emails when the system is initially being setup and is usually set to support@astuntechnology.com.
  • Save your changes.

For the My Alerts Notification email:

  • Open iShare Studio
  • Click on the My Alerts node in the Explorer tree and the Configuration Settings will be displayed.
  • Click Edit to change the Settings
  • Scroll down the list until you can see the My Alerts Service Email entries. The one you need to change is the ReportTo entry.
  • Save your changes.
