Create Job to Refresh Modern.gov data
In order that the Modern.gov data is kept up-to-date you need to create a Workflow Job to run the Tasks required to download and build the data.
To do this you will need to add a Job entry. Right click on the Jobs entry in the tree and select New Job.
Job Name
Enter a unique name for your job e.g. Update Modern.gov Data.
Now you need to perform the following steps:
- First let's add the two Data Share Connections that we have just created to this Job. Click on the green plus icon and select each Modern.gov Data Share connection from the list.
For Councillors data:
- Create a Task to format the Councillor data - remember to Run this task before continuing to the next step.
- Create a Task to populate the Councillors geometry columns
For MPs data:
- Create a Task for format the MP data - remember to Run this task before continuing to the next step.
- Create a Task to populate the MPs geometry columns
Once you have created your Data Share Connections and Tasks you will need make sure that the tasks are run in the following order; you can use the up and down arrows to change the order:
- Moderngov_councillors [DataShare]

- Modern.gov Councillors Geometry - [Depends on previous job]
- Moderngov_mps_councillors [DataShare]

For those tasks flagged as [Depends on previous job] you will need to select the Dependant button. This means that the task is dependant upon the previous one completing successfully.
