Using this document

These course notes are designed to be used in conjunction with Astun’s Introduction to GIS course, and the dataset and slides provided with it.

Text which appears in an application user interface, for example as menu items or items in a dropdown, appear in bold: View > Toolbars.

Instructions for exercises are shown in an information panel, with numbered steps:

Add Annotations

  1. Turn on the Annotations toolbar

  2. Click on Text Annotation (the button far right)

  3. Click on the map to add the annotation

File names and paths are show in a courier font: D:\PhotonUser\My Files\Home Folder\QGIS Training\Data\vector.
