Including fields from Data Share in your Layer
Overview
Only available for Classic Layers
Data Share connections (Standard and Internal) create a table within the local public schema in the iShareData database on which joins can then be created.
The Classic Layer that you wish to use with a Data Share link needs to have an underlying MapServer .MAP file LAYER entry, this data does NOT have to be in the public schema, this could even be a shape or tab file for example.
Steps
If you wish to include information (fields) from Data Share click on the Data Share button at the bottom of the Layer dialog.
The Name, Help Info and Query Field information cannot be changed via the iShare Studio as these have been predefined when creating the Data Share connection.
To add a new Datasource click on the icon and you will see the following dialog.
DataSource Name
Select a data source from the list of available entries.
Query Field
This entry has been predefined when creating the data source and is purely for information.
Unique Field
Select the field that is to be used to match against the Query Field.
To remove a DataSource select the entry from the list and click on the icon.
