Displaying Metadata for a Layer

Searching for Metadata in iShare GIS

In iShare GIS you can search for metadata using the Search box which will display all Layers whose name or metadata matches the search criteria.

Viewing Metadata for individual Layers in iShare Maps and iShare GIS

Hovering with the mouse over the small arrow displays the Actions available for the Layer:

• iShare GIS 
• iShare Maps 

If metadata has been associated with a Layer then you will be able to click on the icon to display the information e.g.

Click on the Show more link to display additional information e.g.

If you click on the Extent link the map will be zoomed to the specified extents e.g.

If the Metadata has come from GeoNetwork then you will see a View metadata source link, which when clicked on, will take you to the GeoNetwork page e.g.

Click anywhere on the map to close the Metadata dialog.
